Lecturer / Senior Lecturer in Midwifery
Location: Avery Hill Campus, School of Health Sciences.
Salary: £38,784 to £56,535 plus £4,228 London weighting.
Part‑time Hours: 0.6.
Contract Type: Fixed Term – 31 July 2027.

Background
The School of Health Sciences is a vibrant faculty with strong links to the health and social care sector. It offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses leading to registration in allied healthcare, nursing and midwifery, supported by a £8 million simulation centre. It also runs a MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice.
The Post
The post holder will work with the midwifery team and external employers to deliver the undergraduate Midwifery programme, including an apprenticeship offer. The programme is designed collaboratively with key stakeholders and the post holder will maintain ongoing relationships with them. This role is on a fixed‑term contract until 31 July 2027.
Qualifications & Experience
Applicants should be a registered midwife with a desire to develop as a midwifery educator and academic, demonstrating teaching and assessment experience, such as a mentorship or practice assessor role. Part‑time working and/or secondments are welcomed. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to complete a PGCHE teaching qualification and progress through the GOLD framework to HEA senior fellowship. Opportunities for doctoral studies (professional doctorate or PhD) and career progression through the university’s framework are available. Applicants without prior teaching experience will be considered for Lecturer.
