FLAS Faculty Administration & Support – Research & Enterprise Support
This role is designed to enhance our Research & Knowledge Exchange Services Team in supporting the implementation of our Institute of Inclusive Communities and Environments and to oversee the operational function of the support service. The team provides a high standard of administrative and event support to Institute initiatives and Research Centres ensuring an efficient and effective service for research staff and doctoral students. The team has a hybrid approach to working which will include remote delivery of virtual services/events, as well as in‑person delivery on campuses.
Responsibilities
- Strong administrative experience in a Higher Education research or knowledge‑exchange setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, building positive relationships with academic and administrative staff.
- Planning, prioritising, and managing a busy schedule of work to achieve objectives.
- Provide IT support and multitasking within the team.
- Lead a close‑knit team, providing guidance and training to achieve shared objectives.
- Support academic staff in a research context; plan and deliver research/knowledge exchange events and activities.
- Support financial management processes and maintain websites, using appropriate communication methods to highlight research successes.
- Apply continuous improvement and embrace innovation in knowledge‑exchange activities.
Qualifications
- Degree or professional qualification and/or extensive relevant administrative experience.
- Broad understanding of research and knowledge exchange in the Higher Education sector.
