School of Health SciencesBackground The School of Health Sciences is part of a highly successful and vibrant faculty, frequently commended for our partnership working across the health and social care sector. Supported by our simulation strategy and resources, the school delivers a range of undergraduate and post graduate courses leading to registration in allied healthcare, nursing and midwifery professions. The University has invested over ÂŁ8 million in the development of a state-of-the-art simulation centre, which further enhances our record of teaching, research and knowledge exchange innovation. We also have a wide portfolio of post qualifying provision including a MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice. The school currently runs a successful undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) children’s nursing programme in its portfolio and are looking to appoint an experienced children’s nursing educator/s.The Post The post holder/s will work with our children’s nursing team and employers to deliver our UG/PG children’s nursing programme (including an apprenticeship offer). The programme has been designed collaboratively with key stakeholders; the post holder will work closely with our stakeholders on a continuing basis. You will also have opportunity to participate in research and knowledge exchange activities coordinated by the Faculty’s Institute of Lifecourse Development (ILD). The ILD brings together researchers and practitioners from Health, Education and Human Sciences to tackle a range of lifecourse related issues, and has been instrumental in our recent success in the 2021 REF. The Person You will be an experienced children’s nurse with a background in education and/or research to teach across our pre-registration programmes. This is a great opportunity for an individual who has ambition to develop as a nurse educator and academic, having developed teaching and assessing skills through a mentorship/practice assessor role or equivalent. You will have a passion for education, thrive on seeing students succeed, have ambition and an inquiring mind. You will have opportunity to complete a PGCHE and progress through our GOLD framework to achieve HEA senior fellowship, if required, as well as contribute to faculty wide research and enterprise activities.
