An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the Procurement and Commercial Services Department within the University of Greenwich. As the Senior Procurement Partnership Manager, you will support the University with efficient purchasing and tendering across a wide range of categories to support student outcomes.
You will play an important role in ensuring the efficient and cost-effective procurement of these projects within tight timetables, providing accurate information for sound decision-making while reducing risks and not compromising quality. As part of the Senior Management Team for Procurement and Commercial Services, you will line manage and lead a small team of Procurement professionals for Health and Science and a small Print Unit to establish and enhance robust relationships within the aligned business area, covering Health and Science and the wider University.
This role will drive productive collaboration between stakeholders and the procurement function in the effective forward planning of procurement/projects requirements. You will be responsible for the tendering of bespoke contracts for goods, services, and works, including research, preparation, issue, scheduling, evaluation, reporting on tenders and awards, and the management of contracts.
Knowledge and experience of procurement and its application within the public sector are essential, underpinned by both theory and experience. Good contract management experience to support the business would be an advantage. The University has strong values, and the Procurement and Commercial Services Department has been instrumental in supporting our Stonewall Accreditation and helping people advance their careers in procurement. We are seeking someone with extensive experience working with contractors, suppliers, and consultants, and a wide range of clients, with a working knowledge of competitive tendering and sourcing, preferably in goods, services, or construction.
You will also be an experienced leader and proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and other IT systems supporting Procurement. Training on Oracle and Delta e-sourcing will be provided. The role is based on the Avery Hill Campus with travel to Greenwich and our Medway Campus.
