The Centre for Contemporary Coronial Law at the University of Greater Manchester is seeking to appoint a dynamic and committed Lecturer in Coronial Law to join our expanding academic team. The successful candidate will contribute to high-quality teaching, research, and knowledge exchange within the specialist field of coronial law and related areas, including inquests, death investigation systems, medico-legal processes, and public law.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality lectures, seminars, and workshops in Coronial Law and Investigation of Death.
- Develop new teaching materials, module content, and assessment strategies.
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate dissertations.
- Engage in high-quality research leading to publication in reputable academic journals.
- Contribute to the Centre’s research themes and participate in grant‑funding opportunities.
- Undertake personal tutoring and academic support for students.
- Engage with professional bodies and coroners’ courts to enhance teaching and impact.
- Participate in departmental and university-wide administrative duties.
Essential Criteria
- A PhD (or near completion) in Law or a related field.
- Demonstrated expertise or professional experience within the coronial system or medico‑legal investigation.
