The University of Greater Manchester is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Research Systems & Projects Officer to play a pivotal role in achieving our ambitious Research Strategy 2023-2030. This is a critical, high-impact position central to our success in the upcoming REF 2029 exercise, the growth of our external research income, and the effective administration of our internal funding schemes.
As the sole specialist research administrator in this area, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operational delivery of our REF submission, external grant administration across diverse funders (including UKRI, Innovate UK, and the EU Commission), and the management of our internal funding portfolio. You will operate with a high degree of autonomy, interpreting and applying complex regulatory frameworks, and acting as a key institutional contact for external bodies.
We are looking for a proactive, detail‑oriented professional with exceptional organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple complex priorities. You will thrive in a dynamic environment and demonstrate a clear understanding of the strategic importance of research administration within a university setting.
Successful applicants will be required to prove their right to work in the UK prior to the commencement of their employment.
