We are seeking an Electrical & Automation Degree Apprentice to support the management and development of our Electrical & Automation department. The role involves ensuring safety standards, legislative compliance, maintenance best practices, and supporting electrical, instrumentation, and automation systems across the site. A driving licence is advantageous due to the location.
Main Responsibilities
- Health & Safety: Follow site H&S procedures, report issues, promote standards, lead investigations, and undertake actions to maintain safety.
- Environmental: Manage environmental aspects, follow procedures, report problems, and maintain environmental critical equipment.
- Quality: Maintain quality critical equipment, suggest innovations, and audit maintenance activities.
- Maintenance Operations: Develop systems, perform fault finding, and maintain electrical power, automation, PLC & DCS, instrumentation, pneumatic, hydraulic, industrial networking, cybersecurity, safety systems, rotating machines, and mechatronics.
- Tools & Procedures: Use test equipment, hand & power tools, create operational procedures, risk assessments, manage people and projects, develop technical specifications, manage contractors, perform various maintenance practices, use CMMS, manage parts and equipment, train team members, and conduct root cause analysis.
University Criteria
- 96 UCAS Points required.
- Level 3 subjects must include mathematics and a science subject (e.g., Physics, Engineering). Additional mathematics subjects accepted.
- Five GCSEs at grade C/4 or above, including English, Mathematics, and Science.
- HND/C in engineering may be considered for entry at a higher level.
- Additional assessments, interviews, or portfolio may be required.
