Part Time Hourly Paid Lecturer in British History in Cheltenham

We are seeking an enthusiastic and engaging academic tutor who can contribute to the teaching and learning of the BA History degree. We are seeking an engaging lecturer to deliver teaching on the following modules covering 18-19th century British history:

HM4403 Georgian Britain, 1714-1830

HM5416 The Victorian Age of Empire, 1860-1900

Further information on these modules is available on the BA History course webpage. The modules will be taught in classes of 3‑hours per week for 12‑weeks between the end of January and mid‑May 2026. Total contact time will be 72 hours. Duties would also include preparation, marking of student work and tutorial support for students on the modules listed.

Total pay would range between £4,433.40-£4,971.60

Applications are invited from individuals who have a PhD in a relevant field (or very close to completion) and with some experience of undergraduate teaching in History. Early career researchers and applicants from under‑represented groups are encouraged to apply.
