An exciting opportunity has arisento join our dedicated Mental Health and Welfare Support Team as a part-timeMental Health Coordinator on a fixed term contract covering a member of theteam's maternity leave. The Mental Health and Welfare Support Team work as partof the wider support network within Student Wellbeing and across theUniversity.
The role holder willoffersupport, advice and guidance to students with complex personal problems andexperiencing challenges with their mental health and wellbeing in 1-2-1appointments. A key part of the role will be to work with students tocreate a plan to help them to move forward with their studies and studentlife. The post holder will also be required to support students who maybe at risk of harm to themselves or others, and work within the University riskmanagement procedures to elevate and involve others whereappropriate.
The role holder will workextensively with other teams in Student Wellbeing and will also be responsiblefor liaising with other academic and professional teams at the University, aswell as external organisations. As such we are looking forward to receivingapplications from well organised, flexible individuals with demonstrableexperience and training in Mental Health support. Successful candidateswill need to be highly student focused, empathetic and have excellentinterpersonal skills.
