An exciting opportunity to join the University as a Junior Cyber Security Engineer within our IT Services department. The Junior Cyber Security Engineer role sits within our IT Operations Team and is an entry‑level position designed for individuals at the early stage of their IT career. You will work alongside experienced IT and Cyber Security professionals to support the delivery of day‑to‑day security operations across the University.
The role will support colleagues in monitoring and responding to cyber security incidents, assisting with vulnerability management activities, and contributing to cyber security processes, awareness initiatives and compliance requirements. You will also provide first‑line IT support to University staff and students for cyber security related queries.
Strong customer service skills, the ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, problem‑solve, and work as part of a team are essential for success. We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual with a passion for cyber security and a positive attitude. The role suits someone at the start of their IT career with a keen interest in technology and a strong desire to develop their skills and knowledge further.
