This post is full time (35 hours per week) and has funding for up to 12 months. The School of Computing Science is seeking a Research Associate who will make a leading contribution to project “Real-time 3D reconstruction for Nuclear Decommissioning Applications,” which aims to develop 3D reconstruction models based on images for various Nuclear Decommissioning use cases. This project is funded by ACORN, an EPSRC-funded programme to develop techniques for applications and impact in robotics and AI for nuclear decommissioning.

The successful candidate will work with Dr Emma Li, Professor David Flynn and project stakeholders in the research disciplines of Robotics and Computing Vision. The postholder will also be expected to contribute to the formulation and submission of research publications and research proposals as well as help manage and direct this complex and challenging project/disciplinary area as opportunities allow.
