Job Purpose
Leading the coordination, development and delivery of “Learn Together”, a new workshop programme and open-access training resource that aims to upskill researchers in engaging ethically with communities, particularly those who are commonly excluded from research. “Learn Together” will be co-developed with community organisations who represent a range of minoritised groups, platforming their expertise.
The post-holder will lead delivery of day-to-day administrative support, liaising effectively with third sector partners, facilitating event delivery and co-developing learning materials for the online resource.
The post will be guided by the project’s steering group, the Public and Community Engagement Group, comprising engagement professionals from across the University. The project is part of the Glasgow Changing Futures initiative.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
1.Community and colleague engagement: co-develop, organise and lead the delivery of the “Learn Together” workshop series and training, working in partnership with public and community engagement colleagues and community partners. This will involve collaborating with a diverse range of organisations and teams, including reception, catering, central timetabling, AV, facilities and communications.
2.Project management: responsible for operationalisation of the project, working independently to monitor objectives and plan and prioritise own workload. The post-holder will collaborate meaningfully with community partners, working flexibly to adapt to their needs, whilst managing project timelines and ensuring short and medium-term targets are met. Advising stakeholders and ensuring University procedures are adhered to by all.
3.Communication: serve as an effective liaison for community partners, providing a first point-of-contact for all project stakeholders, to ensure consistent day-to-day communication, administrative support and relationship-building; undertaking visits off-campus to community organisations as required
4.Marketing: with support from colleagues, lead on the effective marketing and promotion of events, maximising attendance from researchers from all career stages and disciplines
5.Evaluation and reporting: ensure implementation of the evaluation strategy for “Learn Together”, including distributing surveys, gathering feedback, analysing results, writing and presenting reports to support decision making, as required
6.Materials creation: collate existing and new learning from workshops (written and video content) to develop an online resource, ensuring materials are coherent, accessible and relevant for a researcher audience
7.Financial management: lead the day-to-day management of the “Learn Together” budget, working with and reporting to the project’s steering group
8.Line management: as required, provide line management or supervision duties for student interns or volunteers
9.Administration: clerking relevant “Learn Together” meetings and following up, as appropriate, on agreed actions and outcomes
10.Additional duties: undertake any other relevant duties as appropriate, to ensure effective delivery of the “Learn Together” project

Essential:
A1 Ability to demonstrate the competencies required to undertake the duties associated with this level of post having acquired the necessary knowledge and skills through personal development and progression in a similar related role. Or Scottish Credit and Qualification Framework level 8, Scottish Vocational Qualification Level 4, Higher National Diploma or equivalent and experience of personal development in a similar role
A2 Detailed understanding of the barriers that limit minoritised communities from accessing the university or research
A3 Detailed knowledge of the experiences, needs and challenges faced by researchers in Higher Education, in order to support and promote effective training and development opportunities to this community
A4 Detailed and demonstrable knowledge of events management and administrative delivery processes and procedures, including best practices in events, accessibility, GDPR, health and safety regulations, and broader safeguarding policies.

Terms and Conditions
Salary will be Grade 6, £33,482 – £37,174 per annum pro rata.
This post is part-time (17.5 hours per week), and is fixed term until 31 July 2026 in the first instance.
