Job Purpose

You will be responsible for storing stock and deliveries, as well as carrying out portering duties in retail catering units and functions.

The postholder will be organised and able to manage their time well while efficiently moving stock around the University. Strong customer service skills are required to liaise with a wide range of staff and students to ensure the prompt professional service to all clients.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • 1. Receive, reconcile, and store deliveries appropriately.
  • 2. Carry out portering duties by washing crockery, pots and pans, cutting boards and small equipment and loading dishes into the dishwasher.
  • 3. Assist with stock transfers to other catering units and fill in paperwork required.
  • 4. Assist with goods receiving of invoices and paperwork associated to deliveries.
  • 5. Organise and assist with stocktake in your respective retail outlet.
  • 6. Clean and sterilise countertops, kitchen walls, stoves, ovens, grills and sinks.
  • 7. Build effective relationships with team members to allow for a positive, professional environment.
  • 8. Maintain and clean food storage areas – i.e. freezers, refrigerators and dry stores.
  • 9. Demonstrate a passion for customer service excellence and offer a personalised service that exceeds customer expectation.

Knowledge/Qualifications

Essential:

  • A1 An ability to demonstrate the competencies to undertake the duties associated with this level of post having acquired the necessary knowledge and skills in a similar role elsewhere.
  • A2 Basic level of English and Maths.

Desirable:

  • B1 Food safety level 1 and 2.

Terms & Conditions

Salary will be Β£13.45per hour.

This post is open ended (permanent) and is full time with a working pattern of 37.5 hours per week. Flexibility may be required by mutual agreement and there may be some weekend and public holiday working.
