Job Purpose
Effectively and efficiently to undertake a range of duties associated with the teaching of full time and part time Pre-Honours students in English Language and Linguistics and associated administration as requested by the Head of School/Subject in order to contribute to the College/School/Subject Area objectives.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- To deliver Pre-Honours tutorials/seminars, which will include the supervision of group work and the leading of class discussion.
- To ensure content and methods of delivery meet learning objectives.
- To participate in the marking of written assessments, and providing timely and appropriate feedback to students to support their learning.
- To undertake limited administrative duties such as recording attendance.
- To engage in pedagogical training, organised by the School and the Subject.

Knowledge/Qualifications
- Essential
- A1 Honours degree (SCQF Level 10) relevant to the teaching area or have expertise in a relevant field, together with an understanding of the principles of teaching, learning and assessment.
- A2 A postgraduate qualification or equivalent, or current enrolment as a postgraduate research student.
- A3 Appropriate level of knowledge and expertise in English Language/Linguistics or a related subject.
