The University of Florida College of Medicine - Jacksonville, Department of Neurosurgery is seeking to hire a non-tenure accruing level of Clinical Assistant/Associate/Full Professor full time Neurosurgeon at UF Health St. Johns. This position will be located in St. Johns County which includes UF Health Durbin Medical Center and UF Health Flagler Hospital.
The successful candidate will be BC/BE or equivalent in Neurosurgery. The successful candidate will possess a Florida Medical license or Medical Faculty Certificate and have specialty interest in general/spine neurosurgery. Ideally, the candidate will have successfully completed complex spine/minimally invasive spine surgery fellowship training.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide and maintain high quality and compassionate care to both inpatients and outpatients suffering from a variety of neurosurgical disorders.
- Work collaboratively with members of the healthcare team including nurse practitioners, nursing staff, pharmacists, etc.
- Responsible for excellent communication with primary care providers, consulting services and other referring providers.
- Enhance and further develop the UF Health Jacksonville Neuroscience Institute, including building interdepartmental collaborations and treatment protocols.
- Assist in marketing the Neurosurgery program to community physicians and managed care organizations.
- Participate in peer review, quality assurance, provider/departmental meetings, and other clinical and operational meetings as requested.
- On Call responsibilities as determined by the Chairman.
Salary and academic appointment will commensurate with training and level of experience.
Required Qualifications:
- Successful candidates will have a MD/DO.
- The candidate will have successfully completed complex spine/minimally invasive spine surgery fellowship training.
Preferred:
- BE/BC in Neurological Surgery is preferred.
