Sustainability Team
We have 1.6FTE available over two posts. These full-time/part-time posts are available immediately on a permanent basis. Please clearly state what FTE you are applying for.
These roles offer the opportunity for hybrid working - some time on campus and some from home.
We welcome applications from candidates interested in working part-time hours or job-sharing arrangements.
Summary of the role
Do you want to be part of a team tackling the climate emergency and ecological crisis? Are you passionate about delivering impactful sustainability projects in a dynamic and forward-thinking environment?
We are looking for two Sustainability Assistants to join our dedicated Sustainability Team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference by supporting and delivering innovative initiatives that will help us meet our sustainability commitments - including our ambitious carbon net zero and environmental net gain targets.
As Sustainability Assistant, you will:

  • Support and lead aspects of a wide range of sustainability projects including sustainable transport, biodiversity and circular economy
  • Help deliver impactful communications and engagement initiatives to inspire staff and students
  • Analyse data, develop reports and briefings, and provide recommendations that shape future sustainability actions
  • Build relationships across the University and externally, acting as a key link between the Sustainability Team and its stakeholders
This is a varied, hands-on role where you\'ll have the chance to grow your skills, collaborate with a wide range of professionals, and help shape the future of sustainability within higher education.

Based within FICS, the Sustainability Team is a major contributor to delivering on the University\'s Strategy 2030 commitment to \'lead meaningful action against the climate emergency and ecological crisis.\'
