Join a paid summer placement/internship where you will support climate and nature communications in a live, high-visibility setting. Through the #IIP, you will help turn complex sustainability topics into clear, engaging content across digital channels.

About the hosting organisation: The Nature and Climate Impact Team at the University of Exeter is a university-based impact team working to make nature and climate risk more central to business and decision-making. Its work combines academic credibility with practical experimentation across digital tools, sector engagement, and public-facing communications.

Responsibilities

  • Support the strategic activation of MonkeyRock at London Climate Action Week, with a focus on climate and biodiversity communications.
  • Support the development and scheduling of content across LinkedIn, Instagram, the website, and newsletters.
  • Draft short‑form copy, captions, briefing notes, and event summaries.
  • Research climate, nature, and sector developments to inform communications outputs.
  • Support live event communications and post‑event amplification.
  • Contribute to monitoring engagement, reach, and web traffic, and summarise key insights.
  • Assist with stakeholder communications, including email updates and contact lists.
  • Support web and digital content development, including copy, visuals, video, audio, and related assets.
  • Create and publish photos, graphics, posts, reels, and stories according to content plan.
  • Assist with shooting and editing short‑form video content for our asset library which may be used on social media, web, and other approved channels.

Qualifications

  • Strong written communication skills, with the ability to make climate and biodiversity topics accessible.
  • Experience drafting content for digital platforms such as websites, LinkedIn, or Instagram.
  • Basic familiarity with content management systems such as WordPress or similar tools.
  • Organised, detail‑oriented, and able to manage competing priorities.
  • Strong spoken and written English.
  • Studying Communications, Media, Marketing, or a related field and want to apply your skills in a sustainability-focused setting.

Additional Information

This is a paid internship offered through the InTent Internship Programme (#IIP). The internship is expected to start between 15 June and 15 July 2026 and will run for 3 months. The IIP interns also become part of the broader programme journey, including the virtual kick‑off on 16 July 2026 and the SEED Impact Summit on 24 September 2026.
