We are seeking an experienced HR professional to join our HR Policy and Reward team to support our Strategy 2030 and develop and progress our Wellbeing, Inclusion, and Culture priorities to effect positive change in our working environment for colleagues. Working as part of a collaborative HR team committed to continuous improvement, with the opportunity for hybrid working, you will be able to apply your excellent communication and relationship management skills and HR experience to make a real impact on our organisational culture.

In this role, you will:

  • Maintain a positive working relationship with campus trade unions through formal and informal meetings and lead consultations and negotiations with trade unions on key projects.
  • Support HR Partners and senior managers in managing employee relations during organisational change.
  • Working as part of a team of HR professionals, develop, review, and implement HR policies aligned with best practice and legislative requirements and provide expert advice on employment law and HR policy interpretation.
  • Represent HR on cross-University working groups.

We are looking for someone with:

  • A degree or equivalent qualification and CIPD Level 5 or MCIPD membership (or equivalent experience).
  • Significant experience in employee relations, including working with trade unions.
  • Strong knowledge of employment and equality law.
  • Excellent negotiation, influencing, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage projects and deliver innovative HR solutions.

This full-time post is available immediately on a permanent basis. The starting salary will be from £50,253 to £53,301 on Grade G, depending on knowledge, skills and experience. This role offers the opportunity for hybrid working - some time on campus and some from home.
