About The Role

Digital Transformation

The Digital Transformation Division is recruiting a Digital Capability and Change Manager to support strategic digital, data and AI transformation initiatives across the University of Exeter.

The division brings together digital delivery, data capability and AI enablement to improve experiences for students and staff, support better decision making and help deliver the University's Strategy 2030 ambitions.

Initially focused on delivery of Community AI Access & Capability, the role will develop and deliver change management, engagement, and staff capability-building activities that help staff and students responsibly adopt new services, technologies, processes and ways of working.

You will develop and deliver change management, engagement and capability-building activity, working with colleagues across the University to promote trust, transparency and informed participation.

If you are motivated by collaboration, practical change delivery and helping people build confidence with digital, data and AI-enabled tools, this is an opportunity to play an important role in supporting colleagues across the University.

What You'll Be Doing...

  • Develop and deliver stakeholder engagement, communications and change management activities aligned to programme objectives and milestones.
  • Coordinate readiness, adoption and capability-building activity across multiple workstreams and stakeholder groups.
  • Facilitate workshops, focus groups, networks and communities of practice that support participation, feedback and knowledge sharing.
  • Work with colleagues across the University to identify staff capability needs and ensure training, guidance and engagement activity complements existing digital skills provision.
  • Produce clear reports, briefing papers, presentations and communications materials for governance groups and senior stakeholders.
  • Analyse feedback, engagement data and benefits measures to identify themes, risks and opportunities, and recommend practical interventions.
  • Support responsible adoption of digital, data and AI-enabled tools by helping to address questions of trust, academic integrity, sustainability and responsible use.

About You

We're really looking for...

  • Experience of delivering change management, engagement or transformation activity within a complex organisation.
  • Knowledge of change management, stakeholder engagement and communications approaches, and how these support successful organisational change.
  • Experience of working across digital, data, AI or technology-enabled transformation projects or programmes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear materials for a range of audiences.
  • Confidence building productive relationships with diverse stakeholders and facilitating open, constructive engagement.
  • Ability to analyse information, identify risks and opportunities, and develop practical recommendations.
  • A collaborative, inclusive and adaptable approach, with a commitment to responsible, ethical and sustainable innovation.
