This full-time post is available immediately on a permanent basis. Applications for secondments will be considered subject to agreement from your current line manager. The starting salary will be from £25,528 to £26,694 on Grade B, depending on knowledge, skills and experience.
You will be part of a team of operatives engaged to fulfil the operational needs of the University, delivering a robust and professional service to the Faculties, Professional Services and visitors. This role will include cover and other operational support within Facilities Operations. Flexibility and adaptability are key components of this role as operational requirements may change at short notice. These are physically demanding positions and the post-holders will be covering a wide range of duties including:
- Facilitating room and event set-up requirements
- Lifting and carrying large pieces of equipment
- Participating in waste and recycling duties
Main Purpose
To undertake, daily, various Facilities Operations tasks to provide a safe and suitable environment for staff, students and visitors to the University. There will be elements of driving, equipment moves, setting and resetting teaching rooms, event support, some security and assisting with incident support when required. Applicants must hold a clean driving licence and be required to drive University-registered vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes as part of their normal daily process. Applicants will be expected to carry out duties with minimal supervision and will liaise with a wide range of customers. Applicants will be expected to conduct themselves in a professional manner during all activities.
