The University of Essex is looking for a full-time Video Content Creator to join the Marketing and Student Recruitment Team, creating engaging video content that captures the essence of our students, campuses and University in a creative and dynamic way.
Duties of the Role
Our video production team plays a key role in creating high-quality digital content that supports the University’s strategic priorities, with a particular focus on student recruitment, marketing and institutional storytelling.
The role is responsible for the creative development and delivery of video content from concept through to completion. Working with stakeholders across the University, the postholder will identify and develop compelling stories, translate complex subjects into engaging content and ensure all output aligns with the University’s brand, objectives and audience needs.
The role will ensure content supports campaign objectives, engages audiences and contributes to student recruitment and conversion activity across the student journey, maximising the impact of the University’s digital and social media channels.
Skills and qualifications required
The successful candidate will be a highly organised and creative individual with proven experience of delivering high-quality video content from pre-production through to post-production. With either a relevant honours degree or equivalent professional experience, they will possess excellent technical and creative production skills, including filming, lighting, sound recording and advanced editing using industry-standard non-linear editing (NLE) software.
Candidates will have a strong understanding of brand and visual identity, with the ability to create content that aligns with organisational objectives and performs effectively across a range of digital platforms and channels.
The role operates within a fast-paced environment and requires excellent organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines. Candidates will also have a good working knowledge of Health and Safety and data protection requirements, including experience of conducting and reviewing risk assessments for location-based filming and production activities.
