The Marketing and Student Recruitment Central Team is responsible for developing and delivering integrated strategies that attract, engage, and convert prospective students across all stages of the recruitment journey. Working collaboratively with faculties and support services, the team leads on brand management, digital and content marketing, campaign planning, market insight, and applicant communications. It ensures a consistent and compelling institutional voice while leveraging data and analytics to optimise performance and inform decision‑making. The team also oversees key recruitment channels and events, including online platforms, partnerships, and outreach activities, with the aim of enhancing visibility, strengthening reputation, and achieving student recruitment targets across diverse markets.

Duties of the Role

As a member of the Marketing and Student Recruitment Team, you will be a strong collaborator and strategic thinker, working closely with Faculty recruitment teams and a wide range of academics and subject areas to tailor marketing efforts that reflect their unique strengths and meet recruitment goals.

You will develop and implement departmental marketing strategies, taking a lead role in enhancing the promotion of departments with a primary focus on increasing applications and enrolments to our courses. Key objectives include raising the profile and reputation of both undergraduate and postgraduate courses. This will be achieved through effective management of recruitment content and targeted campaigns aimed at growing engagement among prospective students and their influencers.

This role will also be responsible for ensuring the quality of subject and course content available on the University website. Reporting directly to the Deputy Director of Marketing and Student Recruitment (Marketing), this position will oversee the Marketing Officers leading on departmental marketing. It will play a crucial role in assisting the senior management within academic departments/faculties in expanding their offerings and maintaining core content and engagement materials at the subject level. This is particularly important for the University website as well as for distribution through social media and targeted email communication plans.

Skills and qualifications required

  • Proven experience in effective line management, with the ability to lead, motivate, and develop high‑performing teams
  • Demonstrated success in designing and delivering integrated, multi‑channel marketing strategies that drive measurable outcomes
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build credible relationships and influence at all level
  • Degree (or equivalent experience) in Marketing or a related discipline
  • Highly developed analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into actionable strategies
  • In‑depth knowledge of current marketing best practices, including digital, content, and performance marketing approaches
  • A comprehensive understanding of the Higher Education sector.
