The School is run over two campuses: Southend and Colchester. Academic staff are supported by a team of administrative staff based at both Colchester and Southend campuses.

The School is undergoing exciting changes and expansion with the introduction of a host of new courses, including Speech and Language Therapy Apprenticeships and the Masters in Global Public Health. People are at the heart of all we do. We work in partnership with people from all occupations, who offer us their expertise and experience, making us a team of people who truly understand what is needed from health and social care professionals – now and in the future.

In 2017, we were awarded a silver Athena SWAN award, which recognises the commitment the School has towards equality and development of an inclusive culture promoting dignity and respect. We are currently working on an application for a gold Athena SWAN award and are at the forefront of developing anti-racism training for health and social care students and practitioners. It is expected that you would assist the Subject Lead, providing practical support to the placements team, undertaking teaching and assessment duties where needed, as well as focusing on allocation and preparation of students for their clinical placements and support for students and their practice educators during placements. There may also be an opportunity to contribute to planning for developing our placement related teaching for future years and to work on expanding placement capacity.
