The Role: We are seeking a General Maintenance Assistant to join our Soft FM Services team at the Colchester Campus. This is a hands-on, multi-skilled role supporting the maintenance, safety, and presentation of residential and academic buildings. You will assist with minor repairs, routine checks, basic maintenance, event preparation, and first-line response tasks to help keep our estate safe, functional, and welcoming.
Skills and Qualifications: The successful candidate must be confident undertaking the physical aspects of the post, have good communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrate a strong commitment to customer service, and show a flexible approach to meeting operational needs.
This position is full-time (38 hours per week), worked within the operational window of 5.30am - 8.00pm, five days in seven. Working patterns may change from time to time, with a minimum of 21 days' notice. Current pattern: 8.30am - 5.00pm, Monday to Friday.
