Position Overview: Faculty Dean (Undergraduate) in Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences. Provides senior strategic leadership for undergraduate provision, working closely with the Executive Dean and Pro‑Vice‑Chancellor (Education), supporting them in development/implementation of strategic objectives, policies, processes for maintaining academic standards, enhancing undergraduate experience, and dealing with individual UG student cases for departments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership for undergraduate provision.
- Work with Executive Dean and Pro‑Vice‑Chancellor.
- Develop and implement university strategic objectives for undergraduate study.
- Establish policies and processes to maintain academic standards and enhance student experience.
- Handle individual undergraduate student cases per department.
- Deputise for Executive Dean as required, including chairing academic appointment panels.
Eligibility and Qualifications:
- Open to Senior Lecturers, Readers and Professors who are current members of staff at University of Essex.
