We are seeking an Administrator to work within the Institute of Regeneration and Repair (IRR), a multidisciplinary cross-college institute composed of 3 world renowned research centres delivering scientific research from concept to clinical and commercial product within one world leading laboratory complex on the BioQuarter site in south Edinburgh. Our institute provides a fertile and dynamic environment which allows our researchers to flourish.

The post holder will provide administrative, coordination and organisational support, for a large high profile research institute and undertake responsibility for a wide range of key institute related administrative operational processes to facilitate the research and working environment of the Institute.

The role involves a variety of tasks including:

  • Administration support to the building registration process, including access level management.
  • Distribute and monitor visitor’s cards.
  • Primary contact for new starts, including coordination of desk spaces and equipment.
  • Support to IRR academics and other members of the admin team.

This post is part-time (26 hours per week). We are open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular on-campus working.

Your skills and attributes for success:

  • Previous experience in a similar administrative role.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • A high level of competence with Microsoft Office and e-mail.
  • Ability to undertake training in new IT / Finance / HR systems and platforms.
  • Ability to work independently, to use initiative and prioritise own work.
