The Opportunity
As Collections Registrar you will provide the registrarial activity and expertise for the University’s Heritage Collections, a large, complex and significant collection of art, musical instruments, rare books, archives and manuscripts. Your work will underpin research, teaching, display and academic and community engagement including managing inward and outward loans and supporting acquisition and collections transit, both procedure and process.
Your skills and attributes for success:
- Knowledge of cultural heritage collections processes and procedures, including sector standards, guidelines and legislation.
- Experience of loans management.
- Practical experience of collections management system(s) and related software.
- Enthusiasm, initiative, motivation.

The Collections Registrar role is within the Conservation and Collections Management (C&CM) team in Heritage Collections. C&CM is a multi-sector team of professional and para-professional staff drawn from archives, museums and library sectors. The team works together to provide the interventive treatment, stewardship and sector compliance necessary to ensure the long-term preservation of, and access to, the University’s rare/unique collections.

This post is full-time, 35 hours per week, however, we are open to considering flexible working patterns.
