TR01: £33,000 per annum, plus £9,664.29 per annum for compulsory contractual overtime – in total: £42,664.29 per annum. An additional allowance of £1,980.00 per annum will be applied upon joining the Call Out Rota at 6 Months Service. Additional Call Out Payments will also be applied.

The Opportunity

We are now looking for an Approved Electrician to join our multi-disciplined maintenance team. You will be joining a team that provides exceptional customer services to an expanding world class estate.

Role and Responsibilities

The Opportunity: Maintenance Services currently employ a mix of 85+ trades, semi skilled and trade apprentice staff within its department who are responsible for the service and repair of over 500 buildings within the University of Edinburgh estate.

We now require an Approved Electrician to join one of our multi-disciplined trade’s teams. You will be joining a team that provides exceptional customer services to an expanding world class estate.

You will predominantly carry out reactive and planned maintenance using an electronic maintenance system via smartphone. It would be desirable that the postholder has experience with this method of work prioritisation.

A driving licence is essential as there will be a requirement to drive University vehicles. The Maintenance Services Team also operates an emergency call out rota which you will join on reaching 6 months service and you will be expected to participate in 6 weeks out of the year.

Qualifications

  • Completed an appropriate Recognised SECCT electrical apprenticeship SQV3 or equivalent
  • Hold a current SJIB Approved Electrician grading card
  • Extensive knowledge of the Electricity at Work Act
  • Experience using smartphones or similar technology to record and manage work
  • UK driver’s licence
