At UEL, we believe that a great role is about more than just a salary. It’s about the complete package, including our outstanding work environment and inclusive culture. We’re committed to driving diversity in the 5.0 talent pipeline, working in partnership to promote talent wherever it is found and creating a balanced, inclusive, and green future.
About the Immigration Compliance team:
The immigration compliance team represents a diverse, high functioning team. It is a central part of the university's successes in maintaining UEL’s student sponsorship license. With responsibilities to ensure support for international students is provided from the very first interaction, our international students are placed at the forefront of our processes.
About the Job:
We're looking for a Pre-CAS officer to join the team as maternity cover for one of the team. The role of a Pre-CAS officer is to manage and oversee processes relating to the acceptance of international students. From application to enrolment, the pre-CAS officer assesses students in a variety of capacities including finance assessments, interview assessments, TB certificate verification, compliance assessments and right to study. The role is linear in how the applicant journey appears, however attention to detail is specifically required in a fast-paced role where deadlines are strict.
- Must have prior experience working in an immigration compliance capacity
- Must be decisive and be able to use initiative to make important decisions
- Essential experience of using Enroly/CAS Shield system to manage applicant records
- Attention to detail is key specifically in analysing documents
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will be a keen learner who can adapt quickly to situational changes. You will have experience in managing conflicting priorities and organising work to deliver targets in a high-volume environment. Effective communication and team-working skills are key as you will be communicating (verbally and in writing) complex information to a diverse group of students and staff, e.g. procedures relating to the Student Visa Route compliance requirements.
As the areas of responsibility are quite diverse, we are looking for individuals that are flexible with the changing nature of the work, who have a good eye for detail and are well organised. You will need to have experience using MS Office and databases and knowledge and experience of student administration, particularly in a UK Higher Education environment is essential. Use of Enroly/CAS Shield is essential and existing understanding of record management. You will also have prior experience of working in an immigration compliance capacity.
Benefits Package:
At UEL, we believe that a great role is about more than just a salary. It’s about the complete package, including our outstanding work environment and inclusive culture. We offer a genuinely competitive salary, dependent on experience (DOE), and a range of excellent benefits.
Equal Opportunities:
As an inclusive, equal-opportunities employer, our Stonewall membership and Athena Swan awards reflect our ongoing dedication to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion and we’re committed to closing the diversity pay gap. We’re proud of the progress we’ve made and honest that there’s more to do. We’re determined to keep moving forward so everyone at UEL can thrive.
We're also a disability confident employer and value all applications. Please let us know if you require any reasonable accommodations throughout the recruitment process.
Please note that this advert may close earlier than the stated deadline if we receive a high volume of applications. We encourage you to submit your application as soon as possible. We are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this position. Applicants must therefore already have the right to work in the UK at the time of application.
