The Office for Postgraduates, Research and Engagement (OPRE) provides a holistic support service for the development and implementation of UEL's research, knowledge exchange and engagement strategies. OPRE offers training and development opportunities for researchers and postgraduate research students and services covering pre‐ and post‐award, research ethics, integrity and governance, public and community engagement, and the Research Excellence Framework.

The Research Governance Officer will work with key stakeholders across the university to develop, implement and manage the research governance framework at UEL. The role holder will be responsible for maintaining all relevant research governance policies and procedures, including risk assessments, contracts, and data governance.

They will work with Schools, Services, Institute and Centre research leadership to support them in implementing the research governance framework policies and procedures within their respective areas. Additionally, the officer will provide oversight and management of institutional sponsorship arrangements hosted on the Health Campus and the management of clinical trials and studies, including due diligence and ongoing monitoring.

As a researcher or research support professional, you will have experience in a university or hospital research setting and formal training in research management or a related field. You will bring sound knowledge of, and demonstrated experience in, the application and interpretation of UK research regulations and legislation, and international good clinical practice guidelines.

You will be passionate about research governance and working with researchers and professional services to embed a culture of effective research governance. As a strong communicator, you will provide complex and discipline‐specific information to researchers, supervisors and decision makers, and be part of a network across UEL working to deliver research excellence.
