About The Job
The role will involve leading and managing the Department of Psychology and Human Development, delivering excellence across the full portfolio of academic programmes and activities. The Head of Department works within the school’s operational and strategic development, supports the achievement of the School’s KPIs and UEL’s Vision 2028, and collaborates with the Executive Team to create an outstanding student experience within an impactful research environment.
About You
- A doctoral-level and/or professional qualification, with relevant experience and evidence of scholarship in the form of recent publications.
- Experience leading and managing course teams in higher education, including curriculum development, practice‑based learning, authentic assessment strategies, and risk management.
- Experience in validation, quality assurance and review involving students, professional bodies and employers.
- Demonstrated ability to engage in strategic planning that drives growth.
- Excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills; the ability to meet deadlines, motivate and develop others.
- Understanding of equal opportunities issues within a diverse and multicultural setting.
