We are seeking an experienced and creative Event Manager to lead the planning and execution of our flagship events, ensuring they are innovative, immersive, and delivered to an award-winning standard.

As Events Manager, you will oversee the end-to-end delivery of large-scale, high-profile events, with audiences of up to 10,000 attendees. You will manage physical, virtual, and hybrid events, working within set budgets and delivering against key engagement and sentiment targets.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading flagship events from concept to execution, ensuring they align with strategic priorities.
  • Managing an Events Officer and supporting their professional development.
  • Overseeing high-profile ceremonies, including graduation, liaising with VIPs, guest speakers, and honorary award recipients.
  • Developing engagement strategies and overseeing event marketing, including CRM, intranet, and external communications.
  • Building partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, including local businesses, sponsors, and senior university leaders.
  • Coordinating the honorary nomination process, working closely with the Provost to ensure protocol compliance.
  • Sourcing sponsorship and funding opportunities to enhance event quality and impact.
  • Researching market trends to attract high-profile guests, alumni, and influencers to our events.

We are looking for a highly organised, creative, and strategic thinker passionate about delivering exceptional event experiences. You should have:

  • A degree or equivalent professional experience in event management or a related field.
  • Proven experience in delivering large-scale, complex, and high-profile events.
  • Expertise in hybrid and virtual event planning.
  • Strong leadership skills, with experience managing staff and budgets.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure, problem-solve, and deliver events to a high standard.
  • Excellent networking and relationship-building abilities to engage VIPs and key stakeholders.
  • Outstanding communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and tight deadlines.
  • A commitment to inclusivity and equality in a diverse environment.
