At UEL, we believe that a great role is about more than just a salary. It’s about the complete package, including our outstanding work environment and inclusive culture. We offer a genuinely competitive salary, dependent on experience (DOE), and a range of excellent benefits.

Can you spot the story behind a moment - and turn it into video content that makes people stop, watch and act? Join the University of East London's award-winning, high-energy marketing team and help prospective students see what life at UEL could mean for them.

About Us: At UEL, we're on a mission to transform lives through education, supporting our vibrant and diverse student community and building a future-facing institution rooted in innovation and inclusion. Our External Relations Directorate brings together specialist teams across communications, marketing, student recruitment and digital, all working together to drive our Vision 2028 forward. Our dynamic, award-winning External Relations Directorate is a creative, fast-paced environment where no two days are the same.

You'll create fresh, audience-led content across social, web, email, campaigns and print, with video at the heart of how we bring the UEL brand and student experience to life.

About the role: Here's what you'll be doing:

  • Planning, filming and editing original video content for social media, campaigns and the UEL website.
  • Finding and shaping authentic stories about our students, courses and university life - always clear about the audience, the purpose and the action the story should inspire.
  • Writing clear, engaging copy for social posts, webpages, campaign advertising, case studies and emails.
  • Creating and managing content plans and marketing materials, including prospectuses and printed collateral, from brief through to delivery.
  • Working with student ambassadors, colleagues, agencies and other creatives, and using performance insight to make content even stronger.

This is a hands-on role for someone who can take a piece of content from idea to final edit. You'll combine strong videography and editorial instincts with a real understanding of why a story matters, who it is for and how it supports student recruitment. You'll manage several projects at once while keeping every piece of work purposeful, accessible and on brand.

About You: We're looking for a Content Marketing Executive who is as comfortable behind the camera and in the edit as they are developing an idea, writing the copy and working with people to uncover the story. You'll fit right in if you:

  • Have strong, hands-on experience filming and editing video content, with a showreel or examples that demonstrate your creative and technical ability.
  • Are a thoughtful storyteller who starts with the purpose, understands the audience and can turn insight into content that connects and inspires action.
  • Can create compelling content across digital and social channels, with excellent copywriting and editing skills.
  • Understand how to engage young and diverse audiences, adapting stories with care for different cultures, formats and platforms.
  • Are organised, collaborative and confident managing projects, deadlines and stakeholders without losing sight of the creative detail.

Sound like your kind of role? We'd love to hear from you. Please include a link to your showreel or examples of video and content work with your application.

Benefits Package: At UEL, we believe that a great role is about more than just a salary. It’s about the complete package, including our outstanding work environment and inclusive culture. We offer a genuinely competitive salary, dependent on experience (DOE), and a range of excellent benefits.

Equal Opportunities: UEL is an inclusive equal opportunities employer and is proud of our Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion achievements. We're a Disability Confident employer and value all applications. Please let us know if you require any reasonable adjustments throughout the recruitment process.

If you're ready to join a University that values your outstanding skills and perspectives and is dedicated to making a difference, we invite you to explore a career with us. We are excited to welcome versatile individuals who are committed to advancing their careers while making a positive impact on the world.

Please note that this advert may close earlier than the deadline if we receive many applications. We encourage you to submit your application as soon as possible.
