We are excited to offer this opportunity as a Research Fellow in Applied Health Research at the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) Applied Research Collaboration East of England (ARC EoE), based at University of East Anglia. The role is with the Mental Health and Wellbeing Research Theme, and involves planning and delivery of impact activities, stakeholder management, and supporting inclusive research practices.
This role includes co‑leading an established regional research network on family carer research (ACORN). You will champion the use of knowledge mobilisation (KM) and implementation principles across the Theme, and help identify projects with potential for implementation, scale‑up or significant opportunity for impact. You will work closely with the KM/Implementation and Research Inclusion Workstreams, who will provide advice and support in use of relevant tools and resources.
There will be opportunity to assist in preparation of research bids and papers, and to collect and analyse supporting data including PPIE. The Mental Health and Wellbeing Theme has four priority areas: 1) health and social care workforce including family carers; 2) women and girls; 3) neurodiversity; and 4) inequalities. We welcome applications from researchers whose research interests span one or more of these areas.
You will join a passionate group of multidisciplinary applied health researchers across our partner universities (Hertfordshire, Cambridge, Essex, Anglia Ruskin) and sector partners. You will be an applied health researcher with a postgraduate research orientated qualification (e.g. PhD or MSc) or equivalent experience, with a good first degree and significant experience of independent research and dissemination. You will have interest in knowledge mobilisation and implementation, and how research is used in practice, policy or services.
This role is suitable for a range of research backgrounds including psychology, allied health, nursing, social sciences, public health, and epidemiology. Occasional travel in the East of England region will be required with potential for infrequent travel to other parts of England.
This post is available for an immediate start on a part time (0.6 FTE), fixed term basis until 31 March 2028. UEA offers a variety of flexible working options and we encourage applications from individuals who would prefer a flexible working pattern including annualised hours, compressed working hours, part-time, job share, term-time only and/or hybrid working.
