Are you a passionate and driven graduate with a background in molecular biology, biochemistry, or bioinformatics? Do you want to pursue cutting-edge research at the intersection of genetics and ageing?
We are seeking a highly motivated PhD student to join a collaborative project between Dr. Alper Akay’s laboratory at the University of East Anglia (UK) and Dr. Magdalena Koziol’s laboratory at the Chinese Institute for Brain Research (China).
About the Project:
This exciting project will investigate how non-coding RNAs and their dynamic modifications on (such as rRNAs, tRNAs, and miRNAs) influence the ageing process. You will use state-of-the-art technologies, including Oxford Nanopore direct RNA sequencing, to map these modifications and uncover their functional roles in animal models. This research aims to reveal fundamental new insights into the molecular mechanisms of ageing.
