University of East Anglia’s Catering services are seeking a self-motivated Assistant Manager to support our weekend outlet operations, supervising the front of house teams, and providing support to kitchen areas where required.
Currently opening for students, staff and public over the weekends, UEA Catering offers a variety of options for hungry customers from brunch in Ziggy’s or a full lunch meal in Sportscafe, to a quick coffee in Unio, and a counter-service menu in the Modern Life Cafe.
You will be a quick-thinking problem solver with a strong knowledge of catering operations. You’ll be organised and calm in your approach to operational dilemmas, and able to provide your very best support to staff and customer service throughout the day.
Is this role for me?
You will communicate with and motivate front line staff; help to improve sales; offer exceptional customer service; maintain high standards; comply with all food safety requirements; and promote new initiatives.
You will need experience in a catering customer facing role; be an excellent team player; possess good IT skills; and be able to communicate successfully with a variety of staff and customers. Some experience in duty management is ideal however full training will be given.
You will be required to work Saturdays and Sundays, predominantly day shifts, with the potential or opportunity to work other days as the business deems it necessary.
A full UK driving licence is essential (reasonable adjustments will be considered in line with the Equality Act 2010).
