We are looking for a candidate with a track record of excellence in teaching and scholarship/knowledge exchange in gross anatomy with experience of teaching embryology and histology. The successful candidate will be expected to develop innovative approaches to teaching, to link with other academics in the Centre, School and University to develop scholarship activities, to supervise PGR students, as well as research projects for students at both undergraduate and taught MSc levels.

Your priorities will include:

  • Carry out teaching and supervision at postgraduate and undergraduate level to a variety of students (medical, dental, anatomy, forensic anthropology, biomedical engineering, art) in relevant subjects (e.g. gross anatomy, histology, neuroanatomy, embryology, as appropriate), including contributing to curriculum design, enhancement of the student learning experience and scholarship
  • Develop innovative approaches to teaching
  • Devise and assess coursework and examinations for undergraduate and postgraduate classes and provide feedback to students
  • Contribute to the Centre\’s academic and pastoral support for undergraduate and postgraduate students

Who we\’re looking for:

  • PhD in anatomy or related subject
  • Teaching or demonstrating experience at university (or equivalent) level (e.g. gross anatomy, neuroanatomy, histology, embryology)
  • Experience of full body human cadaveric dissection
  • Good understanding of anatomy legislation
  • Clear evidence of excellence in learning and teaching, and innovation in teaching methods
  • Willingness to engage with national and international student recruitment
