EI&W enables the University to create psychological safety where people feel they can be their whole self at work by challenging poor behaviours, role-modelling what we want to see, and enabling fair and equitable opportunities.
  • Talent Management and Performance – This area shapes the University’s approach to and provision of talent and succession management, performance enablement and assessment. It defines the capabilities we need as an organisation to be competitive and relevant through workforce planning which aims to develop and maintain workforce relevance and close the gap between the talent we need for the future and the supply we have now.
  • People Growth and Potential – People Growth and Potential (PGP) aims to create a learning organisation with curiosity driving experimentation and innovation. PGP defines current and future capability gaps in our workforce and bridges these.

About the Role

Are you an experienced administrator who thrives on delivering and coordinating a variety of tasks? As our Assistant, you’ll take a key role within a future-focused and busy Talent, Culture and Inclusion team, supporting the smooth running of staff development and learning events across the University.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day administration and coordination of a wide range of projects, development programmes, and events, from staff inductions to large-scale conferences. Acting as the first point of contact for our central staff development programme, MyLearning, you will lead the administration behind our learning delivery, liaising with internal colleagues and external facilitators to ensure seamless operations.

This role is perfect for someone who brings a wealth of previous administration and coordination experience, enjoys working both independently and collaboratively, and thrives in a busy, varied environment where staying one step ahead is key. You’ll also have the opportunity to support key initiatives and contribute to continuous improvement of our systems, processes, and digital resources.

About You

This role would suit someone with administrative experience who can manage multiple priorities accurately and with attention to detail. You’ll be highly IT literate, confident in Microsoft Office, and experienced in coordinating projects or events. Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach are essential, along with a proactive and methodical working style.

As the main contact for the University’s central staff development programme, you’ll have the technical ability to improve systems and processes. Experience in a busy, customer-facing administrative role and strong organisational skills will help you succeed.
