This role will be based on site, primarily in the named location. The Registry supports all aspects of the student journey, right from initial enquiry and application, all the way through to final award and student completion. Registry teams work collaboratively with stakeholders to deliver a high-performance culture that promotes wellbeing, diversity and opportunity for all, supporting excellent student experience.

Student Records and Awards support students throughout their whole student journey, from organising their first steps at enrolment to playing an integral role in students finally crossing the stage at graduation. This role will be primarily based within the Fees theme of the Student Records and Awards team and will play a key part in supporting the University’s core student finance and tuition fee operations during a critical period. Daily activities will include student finance operations, the administration and accurate charging of tuition fees, and the processing of fee waivers. This work is essential to ensuring fees are applied correctly, funding is released in a timely manner, and the University meets its financial, regulatory, and compliance obligations.

The role requires a high level of attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and a commitment to accuracy, ensuring processes are delivered to a consistently high standard. As part of Student Records and Awards, the role supports students throughout their entire journey, from their first steps at enrolment to the culmination of their studies at graduation, working collaboratively with colleagues across Registry to deliver an outstanding service and a positive student experience. This is a fixed term contract until the end of January 2027.

We are looking for a motivated and reliable individual who is keen to learn and develop, rather than someone who necessarily has prior experience in student records, fees, or student finance. Full training and support will be provided, so a willingness to learn, ask questions, and build confidence in new processes is essential. The ideal candidate will be well organised and demonstrate strong attention to detail, taking pride in delivering accurate work and striving for high standards. Given the nature of the work, the ability to manage tasks effectively, follow processes carefully, and meet deadlines is important.

The role involves working closely with colleagues across Student Records and Awards and the wider Registry, so strong communication skills, a helpful attitude, and a commitment to supporting shared goals are key to success. Above all, we are looking for someone with a positive, flexible approach who is committed to delivering excellent service and supporting a strong student experience.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assess, monitor and manage student records and enquiries effectively, acting as the key contact for students, academics and programme support administrators.
  • Understand the importance and responsibility of the enrolment, attendance, financial, academic and assessment record of each student which drives the student fee charged, funding issued and award given.
  • Manage enquiries and contact from external stakeholders, including but not limited to, Student Loan Company and assist students with their student finance and funding journey.
  • Manage and maintain accurate student record transactions and data to enable concise reporting for institutional decision-making, strategy development, internal audits and external returns.
  • Be proactive and transparent in completing any required investigative and remedial work to maintain accuracy.
  • Maintain and help evolve further the student-centred culture to support institutional goals for student experience, retention and progression.
  • Uphold, understand and guard the student and academic regulations and policies for the institution and the interpretation of them.
  • Ensure that customer service provided to University staff and students is delivered as expected and to a high standard.
  • Support student records and awards presence at all recruitment and conversion events as required.
  • Engage fully with regular one-to-ones, objective setting and performance review processes.
  • Help ensure that at all times the student records and awards team act in a responsible, professional manner and comply with General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and data security legislation/policy.

Qualifications required include Level 3 qualifications such as A-Levels, BTEC Extended Diploma or equivalent qualification, with GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4/C or equivalent or comparable knowledge and transferable skills gained through professional experience.

Experience required includes working in a team within a busy administrative environment and using data to review accuracy of records to ensure correct record keeping.

Skills, knowledge and abilities include strong capabilities in MS Office suite, good interpersonal skills, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to adapt and be flexible.
