About the discipline of Therapy and Rehabilitation: The discipline of Therapy and Rehabilitation at the University of Derby champions the restoration of health, function, and wellbeing; empowering people to live life to the fullest. Our wide-ranging expertise spans Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Therapeutic Arts, and related rehabilitation professions.
The successful candidate will join our team of inspiring and friendly staff who deliver innovative teaching, learning and assessment across our range of modules / subject areas within the portfolio of Therapy and Rehabilitation; including undergraduate, postgraduate, and degree apprenticeships programmes. You will ensure the efficient and effective delivery of teaching in accordance with the university’s strategic objectives in order to provide an exceptional student experience.
You will work with the programme teams and Subject Lead to ensure that curriculum development, quality management and enhancement comply with required standards; as well as ensuring that research informs and inspires an evidence led curriculum and teaching.
We are looking for an experienced Physiotherapist who has demonstrable experience within the field of Physiotherapy. An Honours Degree in a relevant discipline is essential; whilst a master's degree would be desirable. You must also be registered with the HCPC as a Physiotherapist. You should have experience of education and delivering teaching to pre or post registration students.
You’ll be an excellent communicator, able to convey complex and conceptual ideas in ways that engage and inspire a diverse range of learners. With a commitment to delivering a high-quality student experience, you’ll take a proactive approach to your own professional development and seek continuous enhancement in your teaching practice.
Effectively teach and facilitate learning on a range of subjects / modules within the subject area on undergraduate, postgraduate, professional and post-experience programmes. Ensure that knowledge from research and scholarly activities informs and enhances learning and teaching, as well as extending it to appropriate external activities such as knowledge transfer activities.
Participate effectively in the assessment process, including the setting, marking and moderation of student work, providing constructive feedback and ensuring it is in accordance with quality assurance procedures.
Act as a personal academic tutor, supporting and mentoring students and learners as appropriate. Provide pastoral care to students, referring when necessary to services that provide further support.
