The Psychology subject area is home to the University's Psychology and Counselling and Psychotherapy provision, delivered at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. As a TEF Gold institution, we contribute high quality programmes grounded in psychological and behavioural science with a significant focus on applied psychology and professional practice. We host a large accredited provision across several Professional and Statutory Regulatory Bodies including the BABCP, BACP, BPS, CIEHF, HCPC and NCPS. Programmes range from undergraduate foundations and initial postgraduate training for some psychological professions, to delivery that supports careers in sectors such as marketing, business, management and leadership, and more. We offer training in a range of therapeutic modalities across the counselling and psychotherapy courses and contribute to the development of the wider psychological workforce through NHS-based commissioned programmes. Our provision is underpinned by excellent student support to achieve the best possible outcomes and high quality progression opportunities into a range of careers, and is supported by high quality scientific research and scholarly activity to ensure programmes meet employer needs and foster graduate success.
As a HCPC registered Forensic Psychologist, you will work with our innovative Forensic Psychology team to deliver teaching and supervision of trainees on the HCPC approved Postgraduate Diploma in Forensic Psychology Practice (the first fully online forensic psychology training programme in the UK). You will have opportunities to contribute to the research profile of the Psychology Subject area, including applied forensic psychology research and other psychology research areas. The role includes collaborating with the programme lead, senior academics and the wider teaching team to maintain excellent student experience and outcomes. The position is predominantly online due to the online nature of the PG Diploma in Forensic Psychology, with potential to support the MSc Forensic Psychology programme delivered both on campus and online. There is no requirement for line management. This is an hourly paid role and may suit candidates who wish to continue practice-based work alongside academic duties. Actual hours and days will be described in a Schedule of Work.
Qualifications
- HCPC registered Practitioner Psychologist (forensic domain).
- HCPC registration for Forensic Psychology with teaching/training experience or transferable skills from beyond higher education.
- Experience of undertaking research and a passion for developing and growing evidence in the field.
- Excellent communication, teamwork and collaborative working skills internally and externally.
