We are the University of Cumbria, for and from Cumbria and our localities, rooted in serving our communities, with people, place and partnership at our heart. Now is a very exciting time to be joining us because we are delivering a new "Towards 2030" strategic plan focused on making the most of our three most valuable assets; People, Place and Partnerships, to become a catalyst for economic well-being for our region, nationally and internationally.

We are seeking to recruit a dynamic and highly motivated individual to join the Institute of Health as a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer (dependent on experience) to support the online delivery of our long standing Non-Medical Prescribing (NMP) programme. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of our prescribing programmes, within a university renowned for its provision of multi-professional continuing professional development within the health and social care sector.

We welcome applications from registered healthcare professionals, with an independent / supplementary prescribing qualification and recent practical experience of prescribing, or from established academics who are already involved in delivering the prescribing qualification within a higher education institution. This could be an opportunity for a practitioner looking for a career change or a new challenge to share their experience and skills with our students.

The post holder will join an established multi-professional team and will contribute to the design and delivery of future developments, making the most of the opportunities offered by our online learning provision and excellent relationships with healthcare providers across the North of England and beyond. You will be expected to actively engage with professional knowledge exchange and scholarship to support teaching activities and extend, transform and apply knowledge acquired from scholarship and research to teaching.

As well as the requisite academic and technical skills, the post holder will be required to evidence their ability to work as part of a team demonstrating skills in project and time management and a passion for teaching and learning. Although desirable, prior experience of teaching in higher education is not essential. For those new to HE teaching, the University offers a PgC in Learning and Teaching for Higher Education.

We are seeking innovative, creative, high quality researchers, and scholars to foster a culture of exploration, discovery and intellectual challenge that generates international recognition, respect and engagement.

In return, the University offers an attractive benefits package including 35 days' annual leave plus bank holidays, 25 research and scholarly activity days, support for professional development, support to achieve Higher Education Academy/Advance HE accreditation, mentor provision in the first year of employment and opportunity for career development.

We encourage applications from the broadest range of society, including all under-represented groups with particular emphasis on Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic candidates, who are currently under-represented in our University and in comparison to the sector.
