Please note: this opportunity is only available to current employees of the University
Now is a very exciting time to be joining us because we are delivering a new "Towards 2030" strategic plan focused on making the most of our three most valuable assets; People, Place and Partnerships, to become a catalyst for economic well-being for our region, nationally and internationally.
This role is to join our team of apprenticeship support tutors, working closely with academics, learners and their employers to ensure that effective progress is being made, issues are captured early and resolved and that learners remain compliant with the requirements for continued funding through the apprenticeship levy. The role is primarily pastoral, supporting learners using coaching techniques to help them develop academically, professionally and personally through their University experience.
Each support tutor is assigned a case load of learners who they support through their studies, ideally from the start of their programme through to completion. Apprenticeship personal tutors will typically meet with each of their learners for a structured review every 3 months.
We offer a comprehensive set of staff benefits which includes:
- a competitive salary
- 35 hour full-time working week
- 33 days holiday plus bank holidays
- hybrid workingin line with business need
- and an excellent pension scheme with 8% employer contribution.
We encourage applications from the broadest range of society, including all under-represented groups with particular emphasis on Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic candidates, who are currently under-represented in our University and in comparison, to the sector.
