Project Manager, South Cumbria Pine Marten Recovery Project (SCPMRP)

Are you an experienced project manager with a strong track record of leading complex conservation projects?

Do you have a background in the biological sciences and experience of managing staff, partners, budgets and project delivery?

Can you combine conservation leadership with a proven ability to secure significant funding from a diverse range of sources?

Do you want to lead an ambitious species translocation project across South Cumbria?

Led by the University of Cumbria in partnership with the Upper Duddon Landscape Recovery Project, Cumbria Wildlife Trust, Natural England and Forestry England, SCPMRP is supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, Rewilding Europe and UDLR. You will lead the project team and take overall responsibility for successful delivery, including post-translocation monitoring, line management, partnership working, community engagement, financial management, reporting and communications. Alongside these core responsibilities, a key focus will be developing and delivering a fundraising strategy, building a strong pipeline of prospective funders and securing investment for the project’s next phase.

The Department or Service: Faculty of Science, Environment, Education and Arts (FSEEA)

SCPMRP is located in FSEEA, one of three faculties within the University. The academic portfolio is expanding in response to growing student numbers and employer needs, and the University has invested in facilities and resources to enable the Faculty to develop new programmes in collaboration with our academic partners.
