Senior Lecturer in Occupational Therapy
About this role
The School of Nursing and Allied Health is seeking to appoint a full time, Senior Lecturer in Occupational Therapy. This is an exciting opportunity to drive forward our vision for our expanding School. Our innovative courses are recognised by the NMC and HCPC for academic quality, innovation and close partnerships to healthcare and the wider sectors in which our graduates work.
You will be the programme Co-ordinator for the MSc Occupational Therapy course which requires full engagement in the recruitment to the course, ensuring the provision is compliant with HCPC and the Royal College of Occupational Therapists, embedding a blended learning teaching and learning philosophy. The course embraces the focus of the new vision for health care practitioners where learners will develop digitally proficiencies, engage in diverse/community placements and will embrace a preventative approach to ill-health.
You will be expected to fully and actively engage in the range of activities that ensure high learning and teaching quality within the modules delivered and work flexibly and efficiently in discharging your responsibilities. The role will require a flexible approach and the ability to engage with multiple professions across the wider university and partners.

About you
You will have knowledge, experience and skills within the field of Occupational Therapy alongside extensive educational experience in a HEI, and in partnership liaison.
Successful applicants will have:
- Degree and/or Postgraduate qualification in Occupational therapy Current HCPC registration with no restrictions
- Recent OT practice experience in the UK
- Experience of education or supporting/supervising/teaching students ideally in Higher Education
You will be motivated, proactive and engage with collaborative working both as a team and with wider partners. We aim to ensure that we equip our graduates with the skills necessary to succeed in the workplace upon graduation and throughout their professional careers. As such, we not only focus on the acquisition of caring science knowledge, but also on vital transferable skills, such as compassionate leadership and robust digital skills.
Your teaching will be informed by a combination of practical experience and/or research to support high quality learning and teaching, experience of using Virtual Learning Environments (VLEs), and the use of technologies to enhance the learning, assessment of and feedback to our students.

You\’ll need to demonstrate an ability to work effectively and positively within a small academic team, excellent teaching methods with the ability to develop a variety of approaches to learning and teaching that is student-centred, inclusive and flexible.
