About this role
The Adversity to University (A2U) Project is an award-winning University initiative that supports people facing significant barriers to education, employment, training and volunteering. Working with individuals who have experienced disadvantage, exclusion or adversity, A2U helps participants build confidence, develop skills and realise their potential. As the first point of contact for many students, volunteers, staff and external partners, the postholder will provide a professional, welcoming and responsive service, manage enquiries and support positive relationships across the project.
The role is responsible for providing effective administrative support to ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of A2U. This includes coordinating activities, maintaining participant records and waiting lists, processing invoices, supporting project delivery, and helping to develop efficient systems and processes. The postholder will also contribute to A2U's communications and social media activity, helping to promote opportunities, celebrate successes and engage key audiences.
About you
You will have a good general education to A level or equivalent, with a high standard of literacy, numeracy and attention to detail. You will need good interpersonal and communication skills, a professional manner and the ability to build relationships and respect confidentiality. You will need to be approachable, adaptable and conscientious. Previous administrative experience is essential, along with experience of creating engaging digital content and managing social media channels.
