Chester Medical School is seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer in Translational Medicine (Orthopaedics) to join our growing Medical Sciences division. This is a key academic leadership role with responsibility for leading the MSc Translational Medicine (Orthopaedics) pathway. You will provide strategic oversight of the programme, ensuring an excellent student experience and high quality teaching that reflects current research and clinical practice. The role offers a unique opportunity to shape a truly translational, bench to bedside curriculum and contribute to the continued growth of the Medical School.

The role
- Lead the design and delivery of the MSc Translational Medicine (Orthopaedics) pathway
- Deliver high quality teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes
- Develop innovative teaching and assessment strategies
- Contribute to modules in clinical medicine, orthopaedics, and translational research
- Supervise postgraduate and research degree students
- Contribute to CPD provision and professional engagement
- Undertake leadership roles including module and course leadership
About you
You will be an experienced academic with expertise in orthopaedics and translational medicine, and a strong commitment to teaching excellence and student success. You will have:
- A good first degree in a relevant discipline
- A Masters or PhD in a relevant field
- Fellowship of Advance HE or willingness to obtain
- Significant experience teaching in higher education
- Expertise in orthopaedics and translational medicine
- A developing or established research profile
- Experience supervising postgraduate students
- Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills
