Senior Lecturer in Computer Science (Networking)

We seek to appoint a Senior Lecturer in Computer Science focusing on Networking to join our dynamic team of academics and help shape the future of our computing programmes. We are especially keen to hear from applicants with expertise in Network Security and Cryptographic Protocols, Internet of Things (IoT) Connectivity and Security, or Cybersecurity in Networked and Embedded Systems. We would love to hear from you if you are skilled or certified in Ethical Hacking.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels as a Senior Lecturer.
  • Keep the curriculum cutting-edge and meeting the needs of employers and future technology leaders.
  • Contribute to the broader academic work of the School of Computer and Engineering Sciences, focusing on networking and computer science.
  • Engage in interdisciplinary projects, outreach, and engagement activities.

Qualifications and requirements

  • Relevant higher degree.
  • Teaching experience.
  • Skilled in developing innovative learning experiences.
  • Support towards a Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education or Fellowship of Advance HE (FHEA) if not already held.

Specialist expertise (desirable)

  • Expertise in Network Security and Cryptographic Protocols, IoT Connectivity and Security, or Cybersecurity in Networked and Embedded Systems.
  • Interest or certification in Ethical Hacking.
