We are looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Management Accountant to join our professional Finance Department based on the Exton Park campus in Chester city centre. In this role, you will focus on the effective budget planning and budget holder support through business partnering.
You will:
- Provide financial business advice and support to both Academic Faculty and Professional Services departments.
- Work with departments to set budgets, monitor actual performance and forecast future financial outcomes.
- Work with departments to create and review staffing plans and to produce pay forecasts as part of the University strategic planning and forecasting.
- Work as part of the accounting team to complete month-end and year-end processes including reconciliations and adjustments.
- Produce regular monitoring information for inclusion in management account reports and statutory/regulatory submissions.
What You Will Bring
- The ideal candidate will have excellent attention to detail, proven accounting experience, strong communication skills, and a commitment to providing outstanding service.
- Essential: CCAB or equivalent qualified accountant; substantial and relevant experience in a similar role; excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to explain financial processes to non-financial staff.
- Desirable: Experience of working in HE finance environment; degree or equivalent.
