The University of Chester is progressing with the MyChester Project, a major strategic initiative to replace the University's core student records system (SITS) and finance ERP system (Business World) with the TechnologyOne OneEducation platform. This transformation underpins our wider Digital Chester programme, reshaping how we deliver admissions, records, registry, academic services, finance, and student facing processes.
We are now seeking an experienced and highly capable Training Lead to design, develop and deliver the University wide training programme that will ensure all colleagues are confident and capable users of the new OneEducation platform.
About The Role
The Training Lead will take responsibility for developing and delivering training for the MyChester project — ensuring colleagues across admissions, faculties, registry, academic services, and professional services are fully prepared for the transition to the OneEducation system, supporting confident adoption and reducing delivery and operational risk during live implementation and go-live. This includes leading the development of blended training materials, coordinating delivery, engaging stakeholders, and tracking the effectiveness and uptake of training across the University. You will act as the project’s primary expert in OneEducation training, maintaining close working relationships with the Digital Capabilities & Technology Team manager, Senior Project Manager, project staff and external suppliers. You will communicate complex information clearly and regularly, promote awareness of training opportunities, and ensure staff feel supported throughout the change process.
Key Responsibilities
- Designing, developing and delivering high quality training for the OneEducation platform, covering diverse staff groups with varying expertise.
- Creating blended learning resources — instructor led sessions, interactive workshops, online learning, Moodle Workplace content, guides, videos and supporting materials.
- Tailoring training approaches to different learning styles and user needs, ensuring accessibility and clarity.
- Define and apply training and readiness criteria to support adoption and go live decision making, identifying and managing capability gaps.
- Working closely with the wider MyChester project team to align training delivery with project objectives, timelines, and system readiness.
- Evaluating training effectiveness through feedback, attendance, engagement data and staff input.
About You
We are looking for an adaptable and engaging training professional with:
Essential Experience & Skills
- Experience delivering project related training, including train the trainer and instructor led sessions.
- Experience developing online training materials and delivering blended learning.
- Excellent communication, presentation and IT skills.
Desirable
- Experience of training on student records systems, admissions systems or the OneEducation platform.
- Experience using Moodle and SharePoint.
